Special Session on Energy Efficient Wireless and Optical Networks (EEWON)

Aim and Scope

Modern communication network is a combination of wireless network and optical network. Broadband networks are trying to minimizing the communication impact on environmental by enhancing energy-efficient communication. Network operators aim at reducing the energy cost of their current and future networks. Wireless and optical networks are work differently towards the same aims, support better communication. Different approaches are being studied in both the network to decrease the overall network energy consumption, such as different architectures, different technologies, network design, different protocols, etc. The aim of this session is to present recent research results targeting energy efficient solutions for wireless network or optical network or combination of both the networks.
